I can not lie…

Ernie and the kids water my flowers more often than I do.  Between being away (when Eric takes over) and busy in the evenings (when Ernie does it) it seems that I “miss out” on watering.  I am catching up on work in the evenings, working out or last night talking to my brother on the phone. What ever the case, I know that it is actually a treat when on a beautiful calm, sunny evening I get the joy of watering my flowers.

Tonight I was amazed at really how many flowers I have.  On ever side of my house, in every nook and cranny and hanging all over the place there are flowers.  This also means there are many colors, sizes and surprises.  Ernie told me the sunflower on the back deck was going to bloom.  And look, it did!

There were other surprises waiting for me too. The Lilies continue to explode in the front and my Begonia is flourishing.  When I went outside this morning for my coffee break, I was reminded again how grateful I am to work at home.  When I stepped out onto the front deck and was greeted with an array of lush plants and blooms I slowed down and took a deep breath and a few pictures.

Another surprise was the Nanking Cherry tree.  We have had limited berries on there over the last few years because the birds seem to get them before we do. I had picked a handful off the other day, but many weren’t quite ready.  Tonight I got another batch of the tasty little devils!  What was really neat was the perspective from inside the tree. So protected!

Yes, I do realize how lucky I am to have the help I have with the gardens and flowers.  I also am glad I do get to enjoy watering them too!  Here are a couple more of my favorite pictures from today!
